Bahrain Mumtalakat Company appoints new CEO

Khalid Al Rumaihi currently serves as the Chairman of Bahrain Real Estate Investment (Edamah) and Chairman of the Bahrain Development Bank as well as a board member of the National Bank of Bahrain, Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority and the National Oil & Gas Authority.

The Board of Mumtalakat, the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain, has appointed Khalid Al Rumaihi as the new Chief Executive Officer.

HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Mumtalakat Board, said that Al Rumaihi has been instrumental in the wealth fund’s growth over the last few years.

 Al Rumaihi who heads the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and has been a Mumtalakat board member since 2015, will replace Mahmood Alkooheji.

Prior to joining the EDB in 2015, Al Rumaihi had spent more than 10 years at Investcorp as a Managing Director, a member of the Management Committee and Head of the Institutional Placement Team covering Investcorp’s clients in the Arabian Gulf.
