Credit Suisse appoints new Head of MENAT’s investment banking division

Credit Suisse is looking to expand in Saudi Arabia after it was recently awarded a full banking licence by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).

Credit Suisse has appointed Hazem Shawki, a Goldman Sachs banker, as its new Head of its Middle East, Turkey and Africa Investment Banking and Capital Markets division.

Shawki will join the lender in October after a total of 17 years in two periods with Goldman Sachs where he was Head of Investment Banking Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Additionally, Shawki will be based in Dubai, reported Reuters.
